Comfortable, Convenient, Rose Hill Office

Parkview Medical Group has embarked on two ventures in our continuous efforts to improve patient care and efficiency. The first venture is the use of an electronic medical records (EMR). Paper charts are being converted to electronic images, our healthcare team is documenting your history and visits and communication electronically, your prescriptions are being sent to the pharmacies electronically, and laboratory and radiology testing are being ordered electronically, and we will soon have a patient portal available to our patients. The patient portal will give our patients the opportunity to log into a secure web site to retrieve lab results, medical records, request medication refills, request non-urgent appointments, and pay your bill.

We will also be piloting a community-wide sharing of minimal data through FMH’s community health system, which will benefit our patients by creating a community record that FMH and FMH specialists that eventually join the system to request access to your insurance and demographic data as well as your allergies, problems and medication list. Please be assured that we will continue to maintain the integrity of your confidential information.

Parkview has also committed to being a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH). This venture is a state initiative through the Maryland Health Care Commission whereby primary care providers and their staff are working as a team to provide comprehensive and coordinated care in our efforts to help you improve your health. We have added a care coordinator to our team and are making changes in our policies and procedures to provide evidence-based medicine, expanded access, care coordination with patient quality and safety measures.

Through our EMR and PCMH program efforts, we have already expanded our availability of same-day appointments, improved our ability for follow-up, improved documentation and communication, and coordination of care. Select high-risk patients will also benefit from visits with our care coordinator at no extra charge in our efforts to help our patients reduce their risk status, emergency room visits, and hospital stays.

Transitioning to these systems has required many changes for our staff and our work flow. These changes will continue to help us improve the way we care for you and your family here at Parkview. We appreciate your patience during these transitions.
