| In our continuous efforts to improve patient care and efficiency, Parkview Medical Group has committed to begin using an electronic medical records (EMR) system in the near future. As a part of this process, we will also be implementing a new practice management system (for scheduling and billing) beginning August 2010 so the two systems can work hand in hand for better management of your care here at Parkview. You will see new equipment in our office, and there will be changes in the way we collect and store your personal and confidential information. Your ID cards will be scanned into our system beginning August, and your providers and nurses will be sending prescriptions electronically, ordering ancillary testing electronically and documenting your visits using their tablet computers beginning late this year or early 2011. | We will also be
piloting a community-wide sharing of minimal data through FMH’s community
health system, which will benefit our patients by creating a community
record that FMH and FMH specialists that eventually join the system to
request access to your insurance and demographic data as well as your
allergies, problems and medication list. Please be assured that we will
continue to maintain the integrity of your confidential information.
Transitioning to these two new systems will mean a lot of changes for our
staff and our work flow, which may initially cause some delays while we
learn, but these changes will ultimately help us improve the way we care for
you and your family here at Parkview. We appreciate your patience during
this transition. |

Thacker, M.D., and
Marilynn Radcliffe Marshall, P.A.-C to our professional team.
Dr. Thaker will begin offering comprehensive family medicine and
geriatric care in the Mt. Airy office beginning July 26, 2010.
